The Story So Far
I am Foysal, a Computer Science PhD student at Oregon State University and researcher focused on leveraging Extended Reality (XR) technologies combining natural language processing, computer vision to enhance real-world experiences in complex and unfamiliar scenarios. My work explores how immersive environments can facilitate training, step-by-step guidance, and skill acquisition in situations that are otherwise difficult, risky, or costly to replicate in real life. I am passionate about designing XR solutions that bridge the gap between human learning, simulation, and real-world application, making knowledge and expertise more accessible and intuitive.
I studied Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Dhaka, where I actively participated in tech events and competitions, gaining a solid foundation in both hardware and software. My final year thesis introduced me to Natural Language Processing (NLP) and sparked my interest in how technology can understand and respond to human instructions.
After completing my degree I started my career as Computer Vision Engineer(intern), then COVID-19 pandemic shifted many directions, and within a year, I started my career as an IoT Software Engineer. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for software development, eventually transitioning fully into the field.
I am excited to continue my journey by blending my skills in software engineering, HCI, and AI, contributing to research that bridges the gap between human intuition and machine intelligence.
